Would you exchange your email for a deal? entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog

Hi everyone,

My name is Dan, and I'm a digital marketer working for a small agency that focuses on marketing books for independent authors and small publishing houses.

In recent years email lists have become very lucrative for authors. For this industry, it makes sense to sell products at a loss if you can get a customers email in return. But due to massive competition getting an authors product in front of customers is extremely difficult; getting them to sign up for an email list is almost impossible.

My idea is to be very blunt to readers. Provide your email to X author and receive Y fantastic deal directly from them (The deal would be significantly better than anything traditional retailers could offer). A site or app could be used to list all the authors selling deals in exchange for an email.

The customer gets a fantastic deal. And the author gets their product in front of the customer and gets their email address.

Assuming the author would be banned from selling or swapping your email with anyone else, would you be willing to exchange your email for a deal so bluntly? Even if you knew nothing about the author but fancied reading one of their books?
