Discussion: Google Web Master Blog and Header Tags earn by blogging adsense income

so I was doing some research on header tags and came across this page: https://webmasters.googleblog.com

Most blogs will use an H1 on their home page for the name of the blog and then H1 tags for post titles.

While they do use the H1 on the home page and drop it on post pages, I noticed that all of their post titles us H2 tags.

This leads me to wonder if I should be using H2 tags for the titles of my posts like they are or stick to H1s.
