How important is landing page word count? earn by blogging adsense income

If my time on site is good, but my word count of the specific page I am trying to rank is low, will it outrank higher word-count pages?

My landing page, has links to several articles on my site which have many words, but the landing page itself has small word count.

Will it rank?

Can you show me some examples of low word count pages that rank for competitive keywords (not the site's brand name).
