I run a real estate office that sees a pretty steady flow of tenants and applicants flow through, as well as about 15 employees (most of whom drink soda) and the occasional vendor stopping in. This involves people sometime sitting around and filling out paperwork, so they aren't always in and out and maybe would want a drink besides water.
I was thinking of buying a used soda machine off of Craigslist. I can probably get one for about $500 that works. I figured I'd buy cans of soda in bulk from Sam's Club or Costco, where I can get the cans for about .40 cents (or less) a can and charge $1.00
Has anyone done a small scale vending machine operation like this in their office or only one or two locations? Are there any pro tips or considerations I should take into account (besides an occasional service call)? I thought this might be an easy little side business to generate a few bucks. Thanks for the input!
