Posting articles with links in blogspot, wordpress.org, tumblr... affects SEO? earn by blogging adsense income

Hi,

A newbie doubt...

A client is asking me - as part of his SEO strategy - to create blog articles with his relevant keywords pointing to their site and publishing them in new blogs created in blogspot, wordpress.org etc... these blogs only contains one article with the links.

Am I losing my time or does the client has reason?
