I stole these 4 growth Hacks and got over $12,544 in additional sales. entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog

Hi,

I am sure many entrepreneurs on here have read the growth hack stories of major companies like Airbnb, Linkedin, etc. They are glamorized endlessly and recycled over and over again.

Here are some growth hacks by smaller companies that have inspired me in my ecom business that I was able to implement pretty fast without much upfront capital. Let me know what you guys think.

Americord (Stem cell start up) http://ift.tt/1PhJBhU

Americord is a start up that offers mothers storage of prenatal stem cells for future therapeutic uses. Their average product is $3,000 - $9,000. EXPENSIVE! With most content marketing channels being very saturated, they turned to Amazon. Young moms are crazy about making sure that everything is perfect for their babies and tend to read as many books as possible. Americord created 10 Ebooks in different baby categories and posted them on amazon. Each book contained valuable information plus their company casually mentioned as a native ad in many places. About 4 of 10 books began to move quite well. In fact, they began to move so well, they raised their price from free to $1.99 - $9.99 a book and started to generate revenue from their marketing efforts. This led to massive brand trust, a 26% boost in sales, and a new stream of revenue that they didn’t expect.

Motivate App (Personal Development Video App) http://ift.tt/2gVC6YT

Motivate is a free app. Therefore any ROI on marketing was essentially 0 for them. Not being able to afford much and having virtually no presence, they turned to Instagram/Youtube where there was no shortage of personal development influencers to choose from. Instead of going after mega influencers (100K followers/subscribers +) that all just wanted money for posts, they focused on micro influencers (mostly ranging around 10k - 50k range)

For Instagram influencers that were hungry to grow, they offered to grow their Instagrams absolutely for free in exchange for features. Forming powerful instagram pods (which required no effort to maintain on the influencer side), they used their access to a pool of 20+ Instagram influencers, to help YouTubers connect with these instagram and cross promote their content on instagram. They managed to reach an audience of over 840K people across both channels and landed on page 1 of the app store.

Reason Clothing (A street wear brand) http://ift.tt/2i6YpdH

In its early days, Reason began an email campaign to increase brand loyalty and repeated sales from existing customers. When you bought something, they sent you a “loyalty email card” for every item you purchased. Every time you bought something, you’d get a new email with one more spot filled in. Once you reached all the spots, you’d get a free item from the store.

But then launched an interesting A/B test. Half the cards had 10 spots, the other half had 12. The half with 12 spots had 2 spots pre filled for customers. The result? Over 152% more repeat purchases from the 12 spot card even though both cards had the same amount of slots to fill in.

Firebox (Online Retailer) https://www.firebox.com

The gift and gadget e-commerce site launched in 2000 and achieved remarkable growth in its first decade of trading. By 2003 the company was posting revenues of $3.7k, rising to $1.7m by 2009. Over that period affiliates drove more than $7m in revenues. In parallel, Firebox used social media to build relationships with its affiliates. The affiliate channel is well suited to businesses in growth mode because growth is self financing, there’s no outlay on advertising that may or may not work. To grow you don’t need to reach new customers, you just need to reach new affiliates. To grow the strategy the company worked not with one Affiliate Network but 3 networks simultaneously, making sure they reached the biggest possible database of potential affiliate partners. Today it is still inviting website owners to sign up, with the promise of 8% commission on sales.

Disclaimer: I personally have integrated 3/4 of these. The influencer idea was a bit time consuming, but after about a month it worked quite well. The amazon idea didn't work quite as well for me as it did for Americord, but I am making $130 a month off the ebook, which is actually really great considering how much sales it's been getting for me. The loyalty program has been a blessing as well. I read up on why it worked and that principle has been grounded in psychology and it's pretty solid. I am currently looking into affiliate networks if anyone has good recommendations or advice please comment below.
