Auto-Generated Title Tags Are Ruining Our Website. Do you have suggestions for us? earn by blogging adsense income

Title Tags as far as we understand commonly are auto-generated to better serve the query of a searcher. However, auto-generation may also mean a website does not meet Google’s guidelines. We’ve recently had a auto-generation issue with one of my websites which appear to be affected by the latter.

We’ve done everything we can to break what may be seen as a ‘boilerplate’, experimented with length & improved resource response time - amongst investigating deeper markup issues which all appear to be fine / fixed. However, the issue hasn’t budged. The one red flag we can see is that Google is reporting these several thousand affected pages as having Duplicate Meta Titles within Search Console when this isn’t the case at all.

What is being decided to show users in Google Search, is a ‘horror show’ and quite an inaccurate representation of what can be found on the webpage.

For example, our affected pages show a price-range on-page, however, the meta title is ineffectively auto-generating a title with either the highest or lowest figure and at times the meta title will use the count of on-page reviews, amongst other ‘random’ words pulled from the page. In summary, the auto-generated meta-titles make absolutely no sense to users.

My question really is; what is the next step for us in terms of avoiding this mass auto-generation of meta titles? We’re really stuck in a rut and feel we’ve exhausted all options.
