I've had my own businesses for the past 10 years or so, currently have two (totally different sectors) that are doing well and making me a decent living.
Neither make me LOADS of money, but I'm more than comfortable. I still have to work 'in' both businesses, so there's not much time to work on the fun entrepreneurial stuff (like marketing, launching new ideas, growth strategy, etc).
There's enough cash in each business to pay necessary staff and me for the work I do, but not enough to continue to pay me, and hire someone new so I can move into the growth side.
I've always had the entrepreneur itch and want to move onto new, bigger things, but feel a bit trapped.
I honestly can't complain - I'm generally happy with my businesses and like what I do, but can't shake the constant feeling like there's more than this - like I need to keep trying to find that ONE thing that will make me independent of having to do the dirty work, and be able to get out of the owner managed business situation.
Anyone else feel this way, and those of you who have managed to get out of the 'work' side to concentrate on growing your businesses - any advice?
