Most people have never filed for a trademark before and are completely oblivious to the process. I used to be one of them. Unfortunately, like in every industry, there are people out there whose only job is to feed on the most vulnerable.
This may not happen to everyone, but it has so far happened to me every time I filed for a trademark.
So what is the scam...
After filing for a trademark, a company called ITR Register (itr-service.com) sends this in the mail demanding $1,380 (5X more than the actual trademark filing) to "register" and "publish" your trademark on their private online database www.itr-service.com. Although this may be true, the "registration" and "publication" have absolutely zero direct benefits to your company and is, to be blatantly honest, fucking bullshit.
Cheers to everyone on this subreddit who don't need to scam people in order to make it. Keep that shit up.
