I've been working online for almost 20 years. I run a couple successful sites and about six months ago I started another one. This one site ranks well for various keywords, it's an authority site in the small niche. I'm receiving approx 1200 visitors per day to the site from Google Search. But I have gone ten days at times without a sale. That's over 10,000 people to my site and no sales. How is that even possible? Items range from $30 to $500. The site is a drop shipper. I know the products sell well on Amazon, very well. The same brands I'm selling. I also know that some of my search traffic are just curious and/or learning about the product. I have a lot of "What is" and "How to use" type articles that rank well. So I'm sure there is a chunk that don't have any intention of buying, at least not immediately. My site looks professional and reputable. I have live chat, a 1-800 number, about us, professional design, etc.
One of my biggest regrets was not private labeling my own brand and building the reputation. But it would have been quite a bit of money so quite risky. But I've been in numerous big media publications, but all it did was build the other companies' brands.
Is it possible people come to my site to learn/browse then go to Amazon to buy? Even still you'd think I'd get the odd sale? I'm going to try and add buy on amazon buttons to my product pages to see if I get some sales.
Should I hire someone that specializes in conversions?
