We've just recently launched a feature on our platform that would allow us to finally monetize it. Basically, based on user feedback, we enabled people to be able to book private lessons from local teachers and coaches in sport, music and art through our platform. That's in addition to what our platform already allowed to do, which was to be able to find local activity partners or people with similar interests to practice skills with... think tennis, golf, hiking, guitar, photography etc.
We've already got a couple dozen private teachers signed up around SF Bay Area (that's where we're based in), but now it's time to turn to demand side and start bringing clients to them. We're kind of trying different things now with not much success (adwords are good but very expensive, facebook ads didn't do much good or we just didn't target people correctly). The main problem is to only target locals to SF Bay Area who are looking to take private lessons for themselves or their kids in any sport, music and art. How would you tackle this problem and what approach would you take? Any input is much appreciated!
