Should i create sub-product types or merge everything into one? earn by blogging adsense income

For example, if i was selling cameras and had a category called 'cameras', would it be better to have everything in that category including accessories and cameras. Or would it be better to create a sub-product type. So the customer will click the camera category and then click the sub-category which only displays the accessories.
