Can I get some advice on barcodes? entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog

Hi,
I am a new entrepreneur and I am having so much trouble figuring out the whole barcode process. For anyone familiar with the GS1 (specifically the GS1 Canada) website, the layout is abysmal and for the life of me I cant figure out how to get my barcode. I paid the 60 bucks for an individual barcode but when I sign in and click on barcode generator, it just takes me to a generic calculator and there is no way to confirm the numbers or add them to the database. I have searched online and cant find any information on how to get a barcode for my product. Any help would be appreciated. As a noob, it can be daunting to get everything that is needed in order.
