Currently my company of one is a consultant service but I've found a need for a piece of hardware so I am moving forward with the preliminary design to create it. Yes, I understand that I will discuss this with my attorney and accountant but I want to run it through Reddit first.
Question one - I assume it's probably best to start a new company. My existing one is an LLC without the intent to ever scale beyond just me. This new company will need investors, then contractors, then employees. What's the consensus on company organization?
Question two - I'm a guy. Any benefit to having my wife in ownership as far as "female owned status" goes? Any assumption on percentage, or does 51% qualify as being female owned?
I'm in Ohio if that matters to either question.
