Going all in for somebody else's company? entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog

Hello entrepreneurs!

I have spent a lot of time recently doing self-reflection and I have slowly come to terms with the thought that where I do best is from within an already existing structure. I am a creative problem solver and I seem to have a tremendous work capacity as compared with my peers. For a while I was deluding myself into thinking that I was going to be an entrepreneur but I am realizing that it probably is not for me. Please do not misunderstand this as a jab at you guys, but I don’t feel like I have the ego to be an entrepreneur. Does it make sense to aim at being a number two or a number three?

I had a conversation with two friends yesterday where I told them that I would decline business class airfare on business trips because I care about the company and they looked at me as if I was from another planet. I told them that a person who started their own company would fly economy class to save their company money, especially in the beginning, and that costing the company less would make you a more valuable employee, but they could not wrap their heads around the idea that you would be prepared to sacrifice for a company that you do not own. Am I crazy to think that? Another example that I brought up was that I usually go to conferences and courses with my own money and during my vacation in order to increase my knowledge, build my professional social network and become a better employee. My friends were flabbergasted that I had not even asked my company if they would pay for the conference fees.

You are all people who understand the value of an entrepreneurial mindset. What do you think about adopting and strengthening the entrepreneurial traits that come naturally to me, without the pretense of being an actual entrepreneur, and deploy them inside a company? Does it make sense to you to be an already existing company and then go all in for that company with the same passion as starting your own? If you own the company you work for you gain the financial benefits of your own hard work. I feel good when I do something good for the company, despite not reaping the financial rewards. I love the process and the feeling I get from throwing myself into it with all I’ve got. Am I missing something? :(

Thank you in advance, Orbital Turtle
