Business model to open a $1 slice pizza place? entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog

I have been doing some cursory research on the $1 slice pizza market. I have found from reading a ton of websites, that the average cheese pizza will cost $2.50 and a pepperoni pizza will about $2.90.

I broke down some calculations based off rent, utilities, and start up costs. I came to the conclusion that I would need to sell 65,000 slices over the first 5 years to brake even. This comes out to 35 slices a day. Obviously most of these sales would be skewed towards Thurs, Fri and Sat, but it seems reasonable.

I am thinking about opening this up in a heavy traffic area that does not have any food options besides food trucks, and about 5 breweries close by. This place is hopping all weekend, even in the dead of winter. When I am walking around there smashed sometimes all I want is food, and I do not want to go to subway or 7-11 to grub.

Does anyone have any past experience with this business model? Am I on target with startup costs being between 40k and 50k with equipment? Anything would help!
