I've been in a multi-unit roll for about 4 years; 2 years with a premium retail brand and 2 in specialty food & beverage running stores across 4 states.
While the experience in this role has been invaluable and I've learned/grown in so many ways, I don't see myself being in a multi-unit role for the rest of my life. I also don't see myself in my bosses job, at all. So i'm considering going back to school (never finished my degree) and eventually learn how to run/start my own business(s).
As far as operating the day-to-day I am very confident in operations and driving performance/sales. It is mainly the bigger picture topics I want to learn more about on i.e. the actual 'start-up' process, fundraising, managing finances, classes that will really challenge my thinking about which business(s)/sector to pursue...
So any advice on a major would be great! Maybe someone who was in a similar situation could share their experience...
