It was suggested I post here, and I've been a quiet member here for a while. So hopefully no one objects to my post.
I started a new sub called /r/MakerBusiness. I've been thinking about doing it for some time, I had the tab open on my computer to start the new sub for weeks.
The idea is this sub is for people who make items and sell them as their business to promote themselves, to get ideas, to get business and marketing tips and for assistance in actual production.
I used to be a design engineer, and it was literally my job to take a client's design and prep it for manufacturing. My idea for starting a new sub came from seeing kickstarters that fail to deliver time and time again even on simple items that could be made in house. So many people have exceptionally good ideas and genuinely want to deliver quality products only to fail from lack of knowledge of the manufacturing industry and not knowing they could actially be making it themsleves, not in some factory half way across the globe they never set foot in.
If you think this may be for you, then come join /r/MakerBusiness/
