Is lazy loading images bad for SEO? earn by blogging adsense income

I recently started messing around with lazy loading for some images and I was curious if lazy loading these images has a negative impact on SEO? I know the lazy loading will help with load times which is good but I am curious if it is safe to lazy load most of the under the fold images on my site if it it will have a negative effect on the alt tags and image names that are lazy loading?

My sites generally load in 1.5-2 seconds but I figure the less requests the better, but I'm not sure if I should only use the lazy loading on images I'm not worried about (for example BBB logo or credit card logo type images) or if it is safe to also lazy load all of my content images that I am using the alt tags and images names for seo purposes?
