I helped start a unique ash scattering company which uses weather balloons to carry ashes to the edge of space before scattering them ( Mesoloft ). Obviously with any type of deathcare business your audience skews older and since we are a higher end service our customers are more affluent. I was recently contacted by the company that produces the in-flight magazine for one of the large airlines about advertising in their magazine and the potential to have an editorial written about us.
The costs are definitely higher than we traditionally spend but it is also seems to really nail our target audience. It's about $5K a month for a quarter page ad, we'd need to book about 6 customers to make it worth it.
We are hoping to aggressively grow the number of customers we book for next years launches and I really think this could help us get there. What are your thoughts on advertising in in-flight magazines?
