Getting Companies to make a deal(licensing) with You? (And a question on copyright) entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog

Hi,

My platform is based on user content submission, and I wondered what companies look for/want when having a licensing deal with other companies. (I'm trying to get their products on my platform, not the other way around to be clear)

Would companies make such deals with a newly launched platform? I plan to initially not charge a fee for them being on my platform to grow and persuade them easily, so they won't technically have any disadvantages for doing that.

Also, what is the best way to approach them? Just simply call or email them?

One final question on copyrights, for secondary creations such as fanarts, do you legally have to pay a small royalty to the company with the ip? Can you make money with it?
