I'm so annoyed at the moment. I'm out on PST time working on contract work and looking to move back to New York City. Found a great role, applied, interview scheduled for 7 a.m. my time. Great.
This morning the CEO misses our call, and then follows up with this email: "kxw3656, so sorry I missed the call. Ran over. Can you talk now?"
I replied that I could be available at the turn of the next hour. She never called.
Granted it's a startup so I understand that things aren't always a matter of process, but WHY DO PEOPLE DO THIS? It's really disrespectful to the job seeker's time. At this point, you've completely lost me as a candidate, and I am a really hard working and would have loved this role in theory.
Please, for the respect of everyone involved in the process, if you're a startup CEO, either outsource your hiring, get someone on your team who is competent to do it, or don't waste my time at all. I've been consulting for startups in NYC the last few years and it's literally astounding to me how much founders lack people/management ability.
