News site hit by Panda penalty. How to recover? earn by blogging adsense income

I have a press release (news site) with about 40K pages and 10K indexed by Google, and webmaster tools shows indexed 26K pages. I used fruitition penalty check and it shows i have been hit by panda. The site pages rank poorly, no problem with indexing and site is https.

I have checked the content and i found that there are thin content and old news content. How do i recover from panda? Do i need to remove the thin content or can i ask google to noindex?
