I realize that many entrepreneurs here deal with non-physical products, all kinds of services basically. But I think there might be a group interested in my observations concerning mistakes made in the packaging of products.
I deal with them on a daily basis. As a company providing online packaging solution, I see a lot. And it pushed me to go deeper and see what other mistakes people make in designing their product's packaging. I have found a few, which I wanted to share with you.
Among the most popular ones, I found: - Wrong labeling. It can be funny, but it can also pose a threat to health. In pharmaceutical products, a wrong label can have tragic consequences. - Plain and uninteresting design. Yep, it's cliche, but it still bothers me. There's just so many packaging designs, which beg for a breeze of a fresh idea. - "Almost" Eco-Friendly. Somewhere on the net, I have found an ecological teabag packed in a plastic container. I mean, come on. - Wasting material. If you type in plastic packaging in Twitter, you will see many photos of food products with excessive packaging. Foils, plastic trays and all kinds of unnecessary additions.
So here are some things I have seen. I also wrote a bit more about it as a blog post, I will share it in the comments section. Just wanted to present you my observations. Probably some redditors here send products in boxes, so this might be of help. Or maybe you've seen some other funny things, that can be a "what not to do" story.
