Taking on my competitors 500K hits per month blog. Guidance and moral support please earn by blogging adsense income

Hi guys

The last 3 months myself + a few members of staff have been creating an informative blog with a focus on a subsector of the health and fitness niche.

There are 2 other established blogs in this niche that are getting approximately 500-800K hits per month (similar web data).

So far the strategy has been to scrape their content and recreate it/make it significantly better/more interactive.

All content is well SEO-optimised and so far it's going quite well. The link profile is slowly growing too.

Currently my site has about 50 very well made pages. Bare in mind my competitors have approximate 250 pages.

Here's the kicker: this blog is getting about 4000-5000 hits per day.

That's a long way off my competitors 500,000 hits per month.

I don't believe my site is ranking for broad keyword terms.

As I'm new to this whole thing, I'm wondering whether anyone can advise on how to significantly grow traffic to the numbers my competitors are seeing?
