First REAL business: In 2 weeks I landed $1,200 in monthly contracts, my only skills being Photoshop and good communication. entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog

So long story short, I work in the porn industry. My job consists of sifting through hundreds of images of models, choosing a few, photoshopping them, and then sometimes making art covers. It's a good job because it's easy, I'm good at what I do, and I have an excellent work environment.

Despite this, I wanted more money, and most of all, I recognized that my boss pays me too much for how quickly I do my work. I do it well and on time, and my managers are happy with me. The problem I realized is that they're paying me $3,500/month for a 40 hour work week, where realistically, I only have to work about 25.

So, my thought was the following: what other businesses have to edit a ton of images? Sure enough, modeling agencies. They take hundreds of photos on set everyday, and each supply different content producers.

How I 'cashed in'

I went on Fiverr and purchased an email list for modeling agencies. I got 1,600 emails, quality checked a few of them and was ultimately happy with the results. I used Sendblaster to start my unsolicited campaign ( I know ).

I sent 1,565 emails offering image editing starting at $2 a piece, with room for contract negotiation. I ended up having 9 ongoing email conversations. By the end of the week I had 3 contracts for remote work done through dropbox. I am looking for ways to get more contracts, though I will continue to use cold emailing.

I now have no more time on my hands AT ALL, because after work I go home to... work. This is a scalable business, and I will be able to outsource the work soon I hope. All in all, so far I've saved 3 businesses a total of about $7,000, and made myself and extra $1,200.

TL;DR I can photoshop and showed people I can be the middle ground between an on-site, expensive employee, and outsourced slave labour in a developing nation.
