Hi guys, been lurking in the Reddit ditches for some time and love reading the stories and advice on this sub. There have been previous posts on the topic but want some more specialised and up to date advice.
I want to create a social network, as a way of solving a problem that I have experience personally and discussed with others (frankly I'm surprised it's not more pertinent given the economic state of affairs and choice within the world from a young age).
Having no programming/development background, I am looking for a 'script' of one of the major ones (more LinkedIn than Facebook) that I can adapt with the view to creating a custom platform at a later date.
I also have questions on hosting and ownership of 'property' and data through using a script, and how you would go about hosting - guidance would be very welcome. Scaleability and functionality are, from my research, key to nail down early on.
As I said, the development side is not my forté and so ELI5 but I have strong ties to marketing contacts (which would be relevant at a later date as to begin with I am just looking to solve a problem and develop the niche).
I don't have delusions of being the next big thing, just to start small and devote as much spare time to this as possible.
Any help would be appreciated.
