Having spent a decade doing this entrepreneur thing, with an acquisition under my belt and currently raising for my second, the BIGGEST mistake I see people make is creating businesses that sound like 'good ideas'. There are an infinite amount of good ideas, but unless people will scream at you 'take my money' as you are solving a specific problem for a niche target market, don't bother. Your job as an entrepreneur is to have an MBA in your clients' problems. Then provide a complete solution. If you can demonstrate authority over a problem, articulate it better than the person experiencing the problem can, you then have all the marketing you'll ever need.
Don't come up with good ideas, solve real problems.
