Well it's been a successful first year for the company officially. It started with me as a freelance then I merged with a silent partner who saw the vision of what I was creating alone, and how huge it could be. They gave some money to upgrade equipment and a bit of mentoring then are busy with their huge company so it's basically me alone.
We did around 200k this year- we've grown with no indication of slowing. But sometimes I regret the company. Before on my own, it was just me. Whatever I made was in my pocket. Now I wake up, return emails, manage a couple employees (work for hire) work, work work until the day is done. Wake up, do it again. Silly- we hire an accountant and of course as an employee of my own company I w2 myself. I feel pissed sometimes I'm paying the accountant 8k a year to literally write a single check to me a month. Mad that taxes come out of my check (very different than a 1099 freelance) and that I have endless piles of work. I want a vacation but people rely heavily on me- it's cool I created jobs- but then anyone who employed people knows what a pain in the ass employees can be (they want the world with minimum work- one employee even tried to poach a client and under cut us). My phone rings off the hook unless I disable calls after business hours but then I wake up to the mass of emails.
Help me prevent business owner burn out. How can I continue to grow but also do less work than I am now? Is there an older wiser person that can help mentor me?
Before you ask we do marketing for high end real estate transactions (the 5-10 million dollar house)
Tldr- company is doing amazing. I'm burnt out.
