Hello r/entrepreneur :) it's been a pretty long time since I posted here.
I've founded Hippies Hope Shop an online retail store. I got a $30k angel investor from this subreddit and then grew sales to six figures before I sold the company. Then I went on to start Boise Cleaning Fairy (grew to six figures and sold) and Boise Digital (currently operating).
My ad agency has been doing lead generation for mortgage companies for a while now, and a couple months ago we were brought onboard to US Mortgage.
As an entrepreneur focused marketing guy, switching over from "by myself" to "with a corporation" has been a pretty crazy mix up. Like I have a salary now guys. And benefits. And a very nice bonus off all of the production that results from my ads/leads. They even pay for my plane tickets when I have to fly around.
The "job" is to run the advertising for the Mortgage bank, but they have also given me my own Mortgage branch to start too. The division I do ads for is on track to fund over $100MM+ in production this year, and I can't wait to see what I can do within my own branch.
Between the hippie shop, the cleaning company, and the ad agency, I have never been this excited to start building something.
I just wanted to share my excitement because when I first started as an entrepreneur I thought that it meant that I had to build my own company. But what I learned is that I love building, not that I have to build my own thing.
Big corporations need entrepreneurs too. Knowing how to build and scale an organization is just as important to corporations as it is to the solopreneur.
Feel free to ask any questions about start ups/marketing/digital advertising/cleaning/agency life/mortgages. And goodluck on all of your ventures everyone. :)
