I own 3 websites in the same niche, but different topics. What would be the best backlink strategy for this? How many should I link each to each other? earn by blogging adsense income

Each website has about 10 pages. I haven't connected them yet, as I would like to make sure I do it the best way possible. Right now, my thought is to add in the sidebar "You may also be interested in these sites". The sidebar would show up on each page. Would this be a good strategy?
