Today is the Two Year Anniversary of Launching Mini Materials - AMA entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog

Hey guys,

Two years ago today I posted about how I started a mini cinder block business.

To catch up:

My first post on here about how I started the company.

One Year Update

We now have a warehouse, and employ three people to run the day to day. Outside of a few sourced products, we make everything by hand in our warehouse in Florida.

Revenue has grown steadily. Here's a screenshot of Nov-Dec of the past year.

Our primary methods of advertising are through Instagram, Pinterest, Email Marketing through Mailchimp, YouTube, Reddit, Touch of Modern, Pinterest, and bursts of traffic through various crafty blogs.

Successes:

• Partnering up with one of my best friends
• Selling on Touch of Modern & Mancrates
• Creating a higher price point product in the Ultimate Sample Pack in time for Holidays

Failures

• Over forecasted for Touch of Modern on pieces for our Firepit Kit. Have wayyy to much inventory in candles and bases now.
• Paying $1.5k for an aluminum mold that ultimately didn't work
• Selling on ModernLook
