I'm still a few year's of saving money away from opening my own business (retail store, I'll save that for another post), but I'm curious; for those of you who started from scratch (specifically those who did not purchase an existing company), how did you pay yourselves before your business made a profit? did you keep a part time job? Raise enough capital to include a small salary/draw? How did it work?
