Started an Affiliate Site for a week entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog

I was browsing youtube, trying to get some ideas to make money, and I found a couple videos about affiliate marketing and the benefits of it. some of them seemed controversial and I figured since you could do it for free I'd find out what it was like for a month or so.

So first of all, I had to find a niche to write my blogs/reviews about

My only plan at the beginning was that I was going to write reviews on a product and if people bought it through my affiliate link, I would make some money off of it. so I signed up for the Amazon affiliate program after I figured out my niche. Then I had to move on to the next step.

Creating the damn thing

I browsed around to find different places I could go to start up a blogging site. I arrived at WordPress after a couple of minutes. I Designed a quick logo for the site so that it could at least be recognized instead of just a title, then I wrote my first article.

Traffic

after creating my articles for about 4 days, I decided that I would create an Instagram around my niche so that people from there could go to my WordPress and then check out the site. Doing this got me 9 visitors to my site (the visitors are in dark blue and the views on each article are in light blue, sorry for the lack of scale). And that was after I drip-fed images to my Instagram account. Along with those visitors, I gained about 8 clicks on my affiliate links. No purchases though.

Since then The site kind of Settled, I've had no visitors for two days, which wasn't surprising because I neglected it for a while to see how many people would visit it. and now I'm wondering if Instagram is the only way to provide traffic, I've heard of things like SEO but I'm interested in knowing what's worked for people in this same industry. Any tips/tricks/stories you guys have?
