Feedback on an interesting idea we could all use to get funding for our businesses? entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog

Hey peeps!

Was sitting here thinking about creative ways I could raise funding for my business and wanted to run something by the /r/Entrepreneur community.

Would any of ya'll be interested in doing something like they do over here at /r/millionairemakers?

In my brain, it would work something like this...

Every month we could open a thread where users can submit their idea/business plan, and how much money they'd need to fund that plan.

Then we could vote on the best plan monthly, and some lucky winner would get to change their lives thanks to this awesome community!

Also brainstorming here, but maybe the winner could document it somehow, or do an AMA, or something like that to keep users updated and provide valuable advice on the trials and tribulations of launching a new business.

So whaddya think? Any obvious drawbacks I'm missing?

Let's do a community "Pro's and Con's list".

Pros:

-- Obviously you're gonna make some entrepreneurs dreams come true. Which is in and of itself pretty damn amazing.

-- You'll build a much stronger sense of community here in /r/Entrepreneur since we're all be building something great together.

-- You'll provide an amazing amount of hope and inspiration to others interested in starting their journey.

-- Even if you're not in the position to build your own thing yet, you're still an integral part of creating something awesome.

-- All you have to do is give a tiny, non-mandatory donation every month. $1, $2, $3,.. whatever. That's like 20mins to an hours worth of work a month for most of us. Most of us spend that on crap we don't need anyway.

-- If you believe in Karma, you know you'll be rewarded 10x over. It's a great long-term investment.

-- If we do this right, we may be able to give more entrepreneurs a fantastic blueprint on how to start their own business from scratch, too :)

Anyways... what do you think? Throw out some "Con's" so we can see whether the "Pro's" outweigh them, and possibly solve those Con's so we could get this thing up and running!
