How can I change permalinks after redirecting to HTTPS? earn by blogging adsense income

I just switched my site to HTTPS using the Really Simple SSL wordpress plugin. It's all working fine. So, I only have a few blogposts so far and I realized I now want to change my permalink structure. These are high performing blogposts so I want to do 301 redirects but I'm worried it's going to mess with the Really Simple SSL plugin. Should I add them manually in the .htaaccess? Worried I'm going to break the site.
