How do you know if your niche is too small? entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog

I was just reading Carl Alexander's year in review and he has this section that I found intriguing:

As it stands, the growth around what I’m doing isn’t going that well. My educated guess is that I’m reached most of the people in my niche. This doesn’t come as a big surprise to me. I’ve joked from the start that I’m more of a niche within a niche within another niche! (A super niche!)

Question: how do you determine if your niche is too small?
