Website/service with a very similar concept (but also different) raised 3.2 million dollars, is this bad or good for us? entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog

Soo I found out a competitor that's in the same market as us, which is in gaming and e-sports raised 3 million dollars this summer. I was honestly pretty shocked by this number, and especially because it was first seed round.

Does this help us by giving us some leverage if we also decide to go for funding in the future as we can say they were evaluated at X amount or does it actually hurt us?

I know it definitely hurts us in terms of development speed and resources, but this is a market that is plenty large enough for 2 main competitors so I'm wondering if it just further validates our concept.

Thoughts?
