How much does an idea cost? % entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog

Ok, this one is very hypothetical. However here is a thought came to mind a couple of days ago. Let's assume you have a good business idea. Unfortunately you don't have money and time work on it yourself. However you are lucky enough to find a person/team to bring it to life and invest in it. On your opinion, does an idea without investment cost anything? Would it be reasonable to ask 1-10% from profit? How much would you ask for just an idea (let's say it's a doc file with explanations). + here is another question: is there a way to register it/protect from stealing. Thank you
