Facebook ads are a waste of money if they aren't converting

*Through my experience with facebook ads I have learned an important lesson and that lesson is BUILD SOCIAL PROOF. When I first started with facebook ads I would only run them in countries like the US, Canada, because these are the higher converting countries. But every time I ran an ad I wasn't getting much engagement, and barely any conversions so I knew I was doing something wrong. My problem was that I wasn't building any social proof first, so no one trusted my ads. Without social proof people just skip right past your ad! Think of it like this, lets say you are in a park and you see a big crowd of people huddled in a circle pointing at something, you are going to walk over there to try to see what all the hype is about. But now lets say you see one person pointing at something you will just ignore it and go on your way. This is the same thing as social proof with ads. If you have social proof, people are going to want to see why your ad is so popular, where as if you don't they will just skip past your ad the same way they do with every other ad. So now the question becomes how can I build social proof?

How to build social proof This is going to be a simplified way to build social proof since this post is already getting long but I go in more detail if you watch the video at the top of the post. Anyway, the main way to build social proof is to run engagement ads for picture ads, and video view ads for video ads. Now the trick here is to run your ad in countries that like and engage with a ton of stuff. For example when I am building social proof I run ads to India. Most people won't run ads to India because it isn't known to be high converting country, but that is where people are messing up. The strategy here isn't to get the people in India to buy, it is to run your ad in India for a few days to build up social proof, and then once you have social proof run your ad in high converting countries like the US, Canada, UK etc. People in these countries are hesitant to buy at first, but since you have built up social proof they instantly trust your ad because they think 1000's of people can't be wrong. I know this might seem like an obvious tip to some of you who are advanced or intermediate, but I think this is something that a lot of beginners don't do when they first running ads. (I sure wasn't)
