How do you start a market research? entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog

Very simple question. Just looking to brainstorm some ideas to find a gap in the market and see if its viable or not.

Example: typicall food from a country that people like a lot but isnt usually available in another country -> i would start with a basic sample to give people to eat it. If its a success then I would upgrade to a food truck and then a small restaurant speacialized in it until I have a restaurant chain and go with that or sell it.

But Im a newbie at enterpreneurship, so what do you think and how would you do something like this? Doesnt have to necessarially be a food chain
