Business process Standard operating procedures entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog

Hi fellas,

Happy new year!!

Last night I met a budding Entrepreneur while partying for the new year. We were sober and I got to ask him high level details of business and stuff (how-to and stuff) and after a lot of discussions, one thing which stuck me is something regarding SOPs for business. He said he had to finish some SOPs before people come back from holidays to work again...

I am from an IT background, so working in and with IT support, I had the clear idea of what an SOP does and how it is useful. But I am totally unclear as to what SOP would do in a business, as in, on what topic do we create an SOP? In IT, we have an SOP on how to do X and what to do when Y isn't working as expected and stuff like that.

So my request to /r/Entrepreneur is, are there any SOPs which are general (not limited to your venture) and which you can share with me / community. It will help :)
