I am in NYC and started a makerspace (A workshop where adults can come in and use tools and take classes.) We ALSO happen to have kids classes (not using tools but in the same room.)
-Were located inside a boys and girls club.
I cant even get general liability, either the broker immediately says they dont cover it, they have no idea what it is, or it comes back as denied.
Even worse: A large charter school chain has expressed interest in using us as consultants to put makerspaces in classroom in their regional expansion plan, yet I am now calling brokers about errors and omissions insurance and same problem.
We arent letting adults in to use tools yet, so we have no profit, were sitting on a powder keg that cant explode because of this go forsaken insurance, its been months trying to get it.
ANY help or advice would be appreciated.
