Wordpress blog vs. static html earn by blogging adsense income

I'm new to SEO and have been doing research, but I can't seem to find any info on this. I'm building my website, and I'm wondering if it would be better SEO wise to build my own blog and update it through HTML or use wordpress with a subdomain?
