I am looking to incorporate an online business. For reference it is similar to rover.com or airbnb.com. I am not going to name it here yet but that should give a good reference.
It is two of us so we will have to create shares and outline ownership responsibilities. We are based in Ontario but looking to focus on Canada and American markets. We are looking to incorporating since we are planning on introducing strangers to each other and we want to limit our personal liability in case something goes wrong.
We are planning on hiring a lawyers to help us set up the company but I would like to gain as much knowledge as possible. I will use this thread as questions arise and I look forward to the responses.
Should we incorporate provincially or federally. I think we could start just in Ontario but will that lead to larger problems as we spread our reach? Or just incorporate federally right from the get go.
If we incorporate federally, what do we have to think about as we move into the US markets?
Who should be what? We need to outline the Directors (probably both of us), a president and a secretary. Is there any thing to consider. We will be 50/50 on this.
