Having trouble ranking an old, 1 word, domain for a new brand name earn by blogging adsense income

domain is bookmark(.)com and after months of cleaning up the disavow, building many high quality links, cleaning up the structured data and on-page elements, etc. We still don't show up for "bookmark" all the time, and when we do, it's just barely breaking the top 300. Which is becoming a problem for both customers and investors.

I understand 'bookmark' is a competitive term and it may take some time, but I expected to be higher than 300 by now.

Do I continue down the linkbuilding/optimizing path or cut my losses and rebrand?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
