My new side project aims at giving a people on the internet a way to run their super bowl pools with friends in real life and online across the world.

Right now people don’t have a good option for playing this popular game and resort to using sites like these:

They’re ugly, old, non-transparent in how they handle payment, and hard to use.

By adding Bitcoin we can make this game anonymous, free (there is an optional site donation), and 100% transparent / fair since all the funding of the pool and its payout will be on the blockchain.

2018squares.com is a tool you can use to play with friends and add excitement to the Super Bowl. Make a game with one square worth 1/10th of a bitcoin and have the winner take all with a prize of 1 full Bitcoin! If 100 friends on the internet want to play a fun game for 1$ a square and pick a few each - they can do that too! I created my own Bitcoin payment gateway so there is no usual 3% fee like when using Stripe or a third-party. During this beta release payment is turned off but trying to purchase the square will reserve it and trigger funding the square - it will stay reserved until the beta ends instead of the usual 10 minutes. After the beta ends, payment will be accepted on the site and all awarding of prizes will be transparent and available for inspection on the blockchain. no registration, no emails.
