Future Employer wants to me stop all my own websites and clients... earn by blogging adsense income

An industry leading employer has offered me a position at their company in the SEO department.

It's mid-way, not leading, and not at the bottom.

However, they want me to stop taking on clients, stop all clients, stop my own website, close down my business, and hold no personal SEO/website projects.

Has anyone had something similar?

It feels unprofessional and quite controlling. I'm coming from two views:

1. I love what I do, why stop even as a hobby in my spare time?
2. What if they give me a bad reference and we part on bad terms, I could lose a lot.
