Experiences with Alibaba and similar sites? entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog

I am sure that people have asked this a thousand times, however at the moment the search function seems to be down.

Have any of you used Alibaba or Aliexpress (or similar bulk sites) to source products for your business? If so, how did you feel about the experience? What did you learn? Was it worth the hassle?

I have only ever purchased one thing from Aliexpress - an Anet A8 3D Printer kit, direct from the manufacturer (Anet). I was very pleased with the service of the company, the price (significantly cheaper than anywhere else I've seen, besides an ebay listing or two), and most importantly, the quality of the product. This was my first foray into dealing with overseas manufacturers, and it was a positive experience - however, I did not have to deal with customs, nor haggle with anyone for the price.

So, what about you? Do you have any horror stories, or tales of triumph?
