The site that I made deals with a specific niche that is very seasonal and peaks in July and August. (Hint, it's air conditioning.) Last year my best month was around $1,100 in August. I feel that this year I will make more as I'm set to make about $550 this month and it's not even hot yet.
My income comes from three locations:
- Amazon Affiliates
- E-Bay Partner
- Google Adsense
Each income stream equates to about 33% of my total income. (It's evenly distributed.)
I'm getting about 1,200-1,500 views per day and I expect this summer to get around 2,500-3,000 views per day. I have around two-hundred articles written. They range from 500 words upwards to 5,000 words. Most of my content is about changes in the industry. (New regulations, products being phased out, etc.)
Last year I TRIED to write reviews for Amazon products in my niche but didn't see any traction with them. These articles were about 1,000 words and basically involved me digging through the actual reviews on Amazon and compiling then into my own words for a review. I only saw a few purchases off of these but they were higher cost. ($500 or more.)
I also started a mailing list two months ago. Since those two months I have gained 315 subscribers and would predict going over 1,000 by the end of the year.
Now here's my problem. I don't know what else to do to make more money here. Should I just keep writing articles after article and keep slugging away? Should I focus on something else?
Lastly, how should I utilize my mailing list? I know I can't put affiliate links in an e-mail but any other suggestions?
